GPT-4o and data protection? How does it work?
Microsoft provides the option to use OpenAI services on European servers through Azure OpenAI, where GDPR applies. With Azure’s Data Residency feature, we ensure that data is not stored in other regions.
Where are your servers located?
We do not operate our own servers. We use servers from Hetzner, located in Nuremberg, as well as services from Microsoft Azure located in Sweden.
Are my data used for training?
No. We only use data that is strictly necessary for the operation of the chatbot. Training on Microsoft’s side is also excluded.
How complicated is the setup?
Thanks to LTI 1.3, the setup is completed within a few minutes. We are happy to support you with the setup in a short meeting.
What data do you store?
We only store what is strictly necessary for the operation of the chatbot and to ensure IT security. This includes chat histories, request information, and settings.
Why do you only offer GPT-4o?
We exclusively offer GPT-4o because it achieves the best results in benchmarks. Focusing on a top-tier model also enables us to optimize and maintain the system more efficiently.
Can we get an API key?
The goal of the project is to provide a chatbot for universities and colleges. Therefore, API keys will not be made available.
What user data do you store?
To enable separate billing, we store which university a user is from. Additionally, we store IP addresses to detect and prevent attacks on our chatbot.
How long do you store data?
Chats are deleted after 30 days. All other usage data is deleted after 90 days. Only the total incurred costs are retained for a longer period.
